R3 Folding Arch Question

Hi All,

I take delivery of my R3 with folding arch later this week and I have been speaking with a few enclosed marinas in the area and when I mention that it has a folding arch, they all seem to shudder.

Anybody have any idea how much taller the R3 would be with the arch folded versus an R3 with no top at all? Ive been looking online for pics, but have found nothing.

I cant tell if the arch folds behind the glass or over it.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks
Drew

I wouldn't worry to much about it.
I haven't seen the R3 but have seen the R5, it should be very similar.
It folds behind the glass but over the cover. It is probably 12 inches above the boat when folded down.
My brother just got the R5 and when he puts it on the lift (in a covered lift) he just folds it down before he puts the lift all the way up.

Hey Drew.

Welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

Not sure why the marina folks would shudder at the thought of your folding arch option (unless they backed theirs into a garage during a moment of forgetfulness). 🤔

Some of the arches can be heavy and sometimes cumbersome to fold. Maybe they had a bad experience.

In any event, we are looking forward to pictures.
Which engine size and options did you choose?

Again, welcome aboard mate!

Still to early😂
I got to get me 1 of those.
Is there that much of assistance to those towers. Mines one heavy beast.
At least both sides fold down together. Lol

Thanks for the photos Norris Boating! The photos help a ton and we now have an enclosed marina spot on contract!

AsLan7, the build is a 2018 R3 with Ebony and Shale Edge graphics. White bottom, white folding arch, black top with Tahoe Grey interior with Soft Trac Floor. LED Interior Lighting and Underwater Lights. Mooring Cover, Sunpad filler cushion, dual batteries, quilted stitch and air compressor (for filling the airhead tubes on the water). For the motor, we went with the 300 Volvo. I am always looking for more horsepower, but for the purpose of this boat, the 300 should be plenty.

Sounds like a nice option package. I’m sure delivery day can’t come fast enough! 8-)

Very sweet. Who wouldn't be happy with that. It's nice to see they are coming with Malibu trailers already. Lol
Welcome to the black boat brigade.

LOL, the Malibu trailer belongs to the dealer. This boat will be living in an indoor marina...they just used the Malibu to deliver the boat.
