262 Flagpole Install

Post by Cobalt262 »

I got a new flagpole for my 2001 262 from TIG Technologies. Shauna was very nice and helpful. Now I just need to know where it goes.

I have an arch on my boat. Does any one know how far from the base of the arch the flagpole base should be? Thanks

Here's the factory pole I have. It's 35 inches long. Yes I would use ss screws or ss machine bolts. Yt bought a drill bit that worked. I think mine was a bit too small. I go over 50 mph all the time

Just read this thread. I’ll give measurements Monday.

My 262 had it on port side since extending telescopic anchor light was on starboard side (no arch).

Now that I have the arch (anchor light on top) I had it installed on the starboard side since the water fill for sink and transom shower are on the port side.

Thanks, I installed my window latch and it came out a little crooked, but nothing anybody could notice but me. I dont want to screw up my flagpole installation, so I'm going to have my marina install it. IT should be ready Saturday.

Sorry I just get worried about someone else drilling holes in my boat. I rather mess it up myself. Hope it goes well and post pictures when it's done.

The flag came with the pole on mine. Not 100% sure but I think so.
That company made them for Cobalt before they went to China. Maybe they will be back to them soon?

I think I'd like to mount it on the tower. Have old glory and maybe below that my favorite Boston Sports team flag or have two flags port & starboard. Not sure yet.

I like mine on the tower. I moved it to the forward pipe because we are always grabbing the back tube to get in the boat. I also had the holder welded because the one little peg is too small to hold it in place at speeds.

Whewwww.....thank goodness. I totally forgot to measure that today C262. I had the dealer install mine too. Works fantastic with the spring that holds it in too. Well worth the money to the dealer. Post a pic once installed.....and pleeeasse accept my apology. I'm losing it!

No worries AsLan7!! I'll send pics when available.

You pointed out my dirty teak in my last post. I have since powerwashed it and scrubbed it with teak cleaner. It is still black in some places. I was wondering if lightly sanding it would help...or hurt.
