190 Got an Upgrade

Buddy of mine that bought Katie's 190 has three kids. After a boating season they found out how cramped a 19 foot boat can be once you throw in kids food floats toys tubes etc etc. He decided to take the plunge and add a swim platform for a bit more real estate while they are anchored up.
Had it professionally installed by a local place here in Louisville. Looks like they were able to re-use the ladder mounting holes which means only one new hole drilled into the boat. Overall came out pretty good and he can now claim he has a 21ft boat.
You up next Liquid? I know modifying the best hull cobalt ever made is a travesty but does look pretty good.

Nicely done. And a tandem axle trailer. If only it had a duoprop. That's cool they could use the old step brackets. That's some some engineering.
Do they boat on Dale Hollow?

Yup - he upgraded to a tandem trailer /w full electric over hydro brakes. I think the trailer may actually weigh more than the boat at this point, but he is happy.
He grew up on Cumberland so they are over there. Katie has tried to talk him into towing the 190 over to our lake so we can get a picture of it and the 222 next to each other, Maybe next season.

We put one of those on our 226. It is so worth it.

I'm new to Cobalt. Just curious. What makes the 190 the best hull they ever made?
What are a few others that folks hold with such high regard?
Platform looks Great! I'd have done the same thing

It’s kind of a running joke on the forum.

I’m glad you asked.
As it was in jest a member here spoke highly of the handling and performance it was the trip to Cobalt for a factory tour that the truth came out.
Yes even our tour guide praised the newly designed 190 Powered with no bigger than a 5.0...for its ability to perform equally with Big block powered boats of that era.
As it had wrap around seating that could hold more people that most 21-23 footers it was an instant hit.
So as it apears Cobalt used the 190 hull design thinking as they moved forward to their larger series, the ride and speed were improved across the line.
Every Cobalt today possibly has a little 190 DNA in her.
World renown now as the Goat

You tour guide didn’t hand over a factory 190 series “ Lithograph “ ?
Maybe he was bias as the tri- hull was a close second

Well I’ll concede that the tri-hull with the upgraded dolphin

option may edge out the 190. But never the 260 series!
