Need a little help

I recently inherited my father in laws boat, 2000 Cobalt 227. It has a Bimini and Bikini top. I am not sure if this fitting is used for the top(s). Your insights and a picture if you have one would be appreciated. Thx

Is it threaded?
I believe bimini and/or bimini poles would attach ther woth thumbscrews.

Your father-in-law had great taste in boats.

I agree with A7 and your Father inlaws taste! It's good you get to carry on with a nice boat and continue making family memories. Welcome from Oklahoma!
Do you have an existing bimini? My boat has this same fitting, as well as a newer updated style. I no longer use either one of them because I installed an arch, so I'm probably going to remove both and fill the holes with gelcoat patch this fall.
If you can't find the thumbscrew you might look at getting newer "quick attach" stainless hardware and replacing this piece. It sure make it nice when installing a mooring cover or deploying the bimini.

Thx for the tip on the update. My father in law loved this boat but he hardly used it. The hour meter shows 57 hours and I know it works. The boat was dirty when I picked it up but has little to no wear. I’m just working through a couple little issues and it’s off to the lake. I’m looking forward to seeing how the boat performs.

Thumb screws are usually a course thread. They are often made by Atwood or a similar brand. If you get a few coarse thread bolts from the hardware store you can probably determine the thread.

Be sure to change your impeller then if you haven't already. If it's been sitting for awhile it will need it!

Engine fresh water impeller changed, outdrive hydraulic unit replaced and all old fluid purged, fresh water pump for shower hose replaced, serpentine belt replace, outdrive gear oil replaced, engine oil replaced, boots inspected, bilge blower hose replaced, new fuel/water separator filter, and a few other miscellaneous items addressed.
Trailer bunks replaced, new trailer tires, trailer bearings serviced, new bearing buddies, new surge brake actuator and new winch, new safety chains, new tie down straps and trailer fuse holder replaced.
I had a couple things to do before she was ready to go to the water. I’m close though!
