Any welders?

I'm looking at picking one up, mostly for projects around the home and yard. The ones that have caught my eye so far are the Lincoln Power MIG 210 MP or the Miller Multimatic 215, with the Tweco 211i being an interesting high-value smaller brand alternative. Anybody have experience with this kind of thing, or think I should be looking in another direction? Thanks,

John

My brother works for Miller so I might be a little bias. But that Miller 215 is a nice welder.

Bfun, any way to get a factory refurb or other sort of deal on one? It’s a bit of a splurge - something I won’t use all that often.

I have a millermatic 215. It does everything I want it to. I purchased it new and have probably put 20lbs of weld wire through it. It’s never missed a beat.

I can ask but I never heard of returbs being available. I think he can get a deal (not sure of much)on a new one like once every 2 years. But he has to buy it. I'll let you know what he says.

Weldingmart.com
Very big in Lincoln welders. Try to contact them and tell them Chad sent you.
Let me know if you need anything else.

I used to fit for a living before I got into the auction business. If you want to hobby weld just get a 110 Lincoln wire welder and you'll be fine. You can get a plasma cutter but a small Victor torch and small bottles will work if you know how to use them.

My brother is on a fishing trip out of state. So he's being a little slow getting back to me.

Bfun, thanks but don't go to too much trouble. I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist. The Twin Cities are not all that far from Wisconsin - lots of blue welders in garages around here too.
