Battery Tender

Is it safe to leave a battery tender in the boat connected for a long time say 7 months.

I have leave mine on for the winter and have not had a problem . Not 7 months but all of 5 months.

Depends on the tender. My Pro Mariner 20 amp is made to do it. After 30 days it switches over to a maintain mode and runs through the entire charging cycle every 30 days to keep both batteries maintained.

If it has a maintenance mode (trickle when needed), then sure. That’s what they are designed for.
