I hate snakes

My Moms place where I was raised is not too far away from where I live, so I grew up in these woods. I was always roaming about, hunting, fishing, shootiing or riding dirt bikes and horses. I know all the surrounding "lay of the land" for about a four mile radius, because I was constantly out in the woods exploring when I was a kid.

Over the years I've killed lots of copperheads and water mossicans as far as poisonous snakes, and I know the other snakes are good at keeping rats and field mice in check, but I still dont like them so they die given the chance. And in some parts of the State they have lots of rattlesnakes, and big ones.

But around here I've never seen a rattler. Until today at the edge of my yard. I hit it with the mower. Great. Just freakin great.

I hate 'em.

That’s a pretty dgood cent sized rattler. Don’t forget that the fangs can still inject even after death. Be careful

As venomous snakes go, I hate rattlers the least. At least they give a warning and try to avoid contact when possible. We were hiking around Palm Springs CA when I walked between 2 large boulders and heard the rattle. I knew to freeze in place and not run, and I'm glad I did. Directly to my 2 o clock was a huge Western Diamondback who had been sunning herself. My wife and kids were behind me and went running back the way we came on the trail.

I just stood there and she locked on to me..I would sway to the left - her head would follow me...sway to the right...she would follow. Her rattle going crazy. After about 3 minutes she finally calmed down and slithered away back into the cactus. It was very cool.

Water mocs and copperheads are just plain mean and aggressive and will bite you for the fun of it.
