I dropped it off at the canvas shop on Monday and went over my thoughts and ideas. I wanted to be able to get in and out without unsnapping the cover. We do an over night trip a couple of times a year and getting on and off the boat with the origional cover was a real pain. Not to mention that every time I get the cover put on after a trip I remember that I left someing (cell phone, wallet) on board and have to uncover it again. This is what we came up with. Double zippers that work from the inside and out with a velcro overlay to keep things dry. Also moved the pole posistion to keep the canvas tighter.

New Custom Cover..
I will try to keep this short. The origional cover was faded and a little worn. I decided that I would attempt to dye it back to red. If it did not turn out I would not be out anything. After three days of soaking in red dye the cover looked the same as it did when I started. I washed it three times to get any residue off, put the top on and headed out for the weekend. Returning home on Sunday I ran in to heavy rain and ended up with a pink interior because of the dye residue left on the cover
A week of scrubbing and the interior looks good again but the cover was NEVER going back on!

Looks great. I have a winter cover being made that I am supposed to pick up today. Money well spent. Love the zipper opening.

That's a great idea! And when I was reading your first post where you said you dyed a cover I immediately thought " uh oh".
That zipper strip is genius.

Good looking cover. And for making it a overnight option to not feel closed in is perfect!
