Thanks for all of the great information here on the site, it was very helpful when purchasing my new to me boat.

My boat search covered much ground before finding what I really wanted --> 1988 Cobalt 223, then 2002 Four Winns 230, then 2004 Four Winns 230, and finally the 222. Started at Cobalt and ended there -- this boat was immaculately cared for and always boatel kept.

It will be docked at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. Just picked up last week, and took a half hour drive to the dock. Now to be winterized and ready for Spring.

Welcome from KY! You have a FANTASTIC model boat there...we loce our '07 222 as well.

I'm a little jelly of your flag. And that color is classy and I think it falls in to the "RED" color so welcome to that cool kid group as well!

Hey, great intro post Brian. Thanks for sharing a pic too.

Enjoyed reading your boating background. Some real nice boats there. Did you use them primarily for tubing & water sports?

So glad you found us. Welcome aboard mate!

Welcome from Oklahoma! As A7 said, thanks for starting off with a great intro thread and a picture! That's a beauty and I think the first burgundy on the site.

I think Virginia is one of the prettiest states in our country, so I imagine the lakes are premier! We'd like to see more pics of her in the water this spring for sure. Do you have a place at Smith Lake?

I think Virginians are a special people that I have a lot of respect for. I like to think 72 of you guys always show up every time a certain type of person dies and goes to Heaven, just to be sure to send'em the other way!
Again, welcome to the site and we hope you stick around. There's a good group of folks here. We have a Cobalt factory tour coming up Dec 14th that you are welcome to join if you'd like. There will be about 20 of us there going through the place our boats were created, so you should think about coming along with us!

YT you are quite the salesman in your posts! 🤓

Back on topic, Welcome from Missouri! Nice 222, I’ve spent my fair amount of time in Virginia as well. Mainly DC metro.

Any plans for upgrades?

Salesman? Nah, just being neighborly tgrace! And with you being the superhero IT guy that you are, surely you could figure a way to do that pesky company presentation remotely on the 14th? Say, from the lemonade stand at the Double Tree, with all of us in the background? We'd love to help..

Thanks for all the replies and welcome notes. We recently purchased a home at the lake -- we have been doing everything getting ready for our first spring and summer in the house when 2019 hits. That included loading the dock with a sport boat. We will use it for general enjoyment, water sports and what ever else comes our way. It an understatement that my friends are excited about the acquisition.

The only upgrade at this time is to add the flag you see in the picture -- it did not come with the boat. I have contacted Tigtech about a replacement, but 2007 was when Cobalt was switching between them and Chinese supply. I need to get a picture of the mount so I can be sure about the size.

Thanks for the invite for the plant tour, it won't work from a timing perspective this time.

Believe me I thought of that too. We have an office in Leawood KS (KC area) and I tried to do my presentation via WebEx but even that won't work. Because I go on at 11am. The tour starts at 10.

001 you can buy the American flag and holder from the vendor that used to sell to Cobalt before they went to China. It's like $350.00
We can find you their info for you if needed. It's in the forum somewhere. They are great people.

bfair you said you've already talked to TigTech? I think they were the original OEM supplier for the flag before the Chinese deal. The flag from them will be the real deal. As BB said it's like $350 all in if I remember correctly.

Yes it is the original company. The boat on there webpage is a Cobalt and is the owners boat. I'm supprised they still own one.
