Could be an interesting powerplant for a project boat...

Really cool. I'll watch to see what it goes for. I worked on the zr1 engine in the vetted back in the day. This is a great deal. Heck the headers cost 3k.lol
Lockey14 would pull that carbed 5.7 out of that 19cd cobalt and stick this in her.

Fun to see that.

GM and mercury worked on the engine design together for the ZR1 remember. And what a brilliant idea to put the Starter under the intake. Lol.

Ahhhh memories. Hopefully it has valet mode programmed out.

Curious to see what it gets??

I think we all remember that starter. Lol the intake didn't hold any heat in. Lol
Yes they added a resistor to it. We actually had 2 zr1 race cars with that engine package. Raced at Road America.

I'll look on the web. We didn't have flip phones back then. It was the Corvette Challenge series. We had 2 yellow vetted. Michael Andretti's little brother drove one.

Rick at Cobalt told us about a Vette motor they stuck in a 21BR and at 3/4 throttle it started to chine walk at 68mph when he tested it. They pulled it out and went with something different. I wonder if it was on of these? Seems like he said the one they used was a 327 though...

This would be an awesome repower for anything currently running a 5.7 Merc., only problem is no stock outdrive paired to a 5.7 is going to live long with that kind of power.

I loved Road America, my club runs there at least once a year.

I was having a brain fart this morning. It was John Andretti that drive 1 or 2 for us. Here's a article I found. It was cool seeing the cars back after each race and we had to fix them for the next race. I was in the business for 4 years when this started up.
That zr1 engine came shipped on a very nice create when one went bad and it came right from mercury marine.
I think that b1 will handle that engine just fine. I wish I had a project boat laying around sweet 16 would be awesome. Lol
