Fender Size for 272?

New to the forum here, so hello everyone! I'm closing on an '05 272 w/ 275HRs on Merc 496 H.O. in the next week (deposit down). Have not seen the boat in person, just videos, pics, and long list of annual service records since commissioned.
Goal is to make sure I'm set up and ready to take delivery, so a few questions:
What fender size and model do you recommend? Can they be stowed away easily onboard?
What spare parts do you recommend I keep onboard (I'm thinking engine oil, fuses, etc)
Any insight on the inspection and sea trial would be helpful - things to look for, listen for, etc. Boat has impeccable records on a service plan at local dealer/marina/service shop (oil and drive service every year, impeller, detail, etc.). I plan to check all electrical systems, engine RPM, etc.
Thanks for the help!

I have the R7 so I'm unfamiliar with your on-board storage. However, I went with 10x26'ers and never looked back after trying a few more modest sizes. I like to error on the side of caution.....
I may get a few funny looks at the docks but the real boaters know where I'm coming from.....

Personally, I use 12" x 35" Taylors. Yeah they are big..
Like TB, I may get a few looks, but the side of my boat is spotless and scratch free.
My fenders fit easily in the ski locker in the floor.

I also went with some fleece covers and watch for scratches closely. I'm careful to keep the fleece clean - so far so good!

Hey, welcome to the CobaltChat forum C272!.
We use the the Taylor Made Super Gard 6 1/2" x 22" Navy blue and black fender sold at West Marine. They work well (& store well under the top hatch) with our 263 which is about 28' when you count the extended swim platform.

Thanks All, super helpful. I'll post some pics when I take delivery (fingers crossed boat checks out nice). White hull, yellow stripe.
Any thoughts on the pre-inspection?

I have the 8x20's and they work perfectly. And do not take up to much space.
I have a 262 which is the same length as the 272.

You know it brother!
Ain’t nuthin’ gettin in between my boat and it’s shine!

I’d also recommend fleece. Mine stay clean because the docks here are all rubber rails.
If you notice, one has the fleece gone.. I spent an hour tying the fleece on each one perfectly. When we were launching the next time, my son was taking forever getting the fenders out. I asked him “what the heck is taking so long” he said, “taking off the wrappers..man who ever put these on did a good job.’

You're right dane!
Wholesale marine and I believe Jamestown distributors sell the TM super gard 6.5x22's for roughly $38 each.

...and remember, the bigger the fender, the bigger the step onto the boat from the side. Something to think about.
I would definitely have a pre-inspection done. The money spent is worth the heartache avoided down the road. Plus you'll have some leverage and rights as a buyer. Enjoy the ride brutha.

I know the pic I posted looks like quite the step, but the rear rope is loose
The step isn’t much different at all if the rear rope is tied first.
I can tell imy wife didn’t tie it up. When she ties it down, it’s done right...

Welcome and sneak us some pics of the upcoming 272!. We’re excited for you and as you can see you’ll have great support here.
Since your fenderless expect on making changes once you decided on the proper set up. You may want a dedicated front separate from rear ( rope lengths) as most docking descisions happen quickly.
Ahhh the joy of accessories... soon you’ll have extra fenders. As we all do
