Thoughts on SeaDek color?

Hey all,

Wanted to get some opinions on SeaDek coloring for our "New to us" 2011 262. We are setting up the template with Castaway Customs as I type this and I am going to need to come to a decision on color choices pretty quick. I'm very conflicted, and that's not a good thing when your ready to drop that kind of coin on flooring, haha! The interior is Gray, but I will not be going with gray flooring, I know this much. Looking at a brown variation of some sort. I had an old sheet of the material floating around from our old boat so I threw it down for reference.

At first, I really liked the look of the Mocha over camel for something different, but I think it will be too drastic with the gray. That being said, I'm torn between mocha over black (as in the picture), or maybe terra over black, with the terra being more of a brownish-gray color (2nd picture). If you all have any other suggestions and/or pictures of what you have done, I'd love to see them. There's many pictures of swim platforms out there, but not a lot of interior photos of the 252/262 models I have.

What do you all think? Thanks in advance!

Sorry, pictures loaded backwards. The terra over black is the 1st picture, not the second. Second is mocha over black.

What color is your boat. Please post a picture of it. Let's think out of the box here.

Between the two I'm mocha all day over terra. Agree with BBP though lets see boat pics.

Well if the weather ever decides to warm up we will have our interior sea dek installed. We went Terra over black as is matches our interior perfectly and I like that.

But if you don't want grey, go darker for the real faux teak look.

Here's a pic just because we are one of the few that pulled off the real logo!

Ok, so NautiGirl love the look. got some questions.

I am assuming Seadek, correct? Who did you get to install for you? (Doesnt seem to be anyone in Tennessee that does this, per Seadeks website)

I got a quote from some group out of South Carolina and the want $1,100+ just to do the swim platform and extended platform, like yours, does that seem reasonable?

Love the cobalt logo on it.

You can install it yourself. It’s simple. Painters tape and a good utility knife and it can be done. I did my swim deck on my old 262 in about an hour.

Cd262- I’d go with the Moca over black. In my experience the more brown the less dirt it will show. My gray over black showed every footprint

Yup that is 8mm SeaDek. We found a local guy in Louisville that does installs and travels to Dale Hollow and Cumberland. PM me and I can get you his contact info.

Based on what we spent your number seems about right. We installed the platform ourselves, but are paying to have the interior installed.

I just did seadek in my R7 through SC wake and it was around $3,600 for the entire boat. I installed my self and it really couldn't have been easier. Though they already had a template for my boat, they sent that and I confirmed fit. Then they mailed me the product and I cleaned with acetone then just peal and stick. I think the whole boat took me+1 an hour. I personally like gray but of the two you are debating I would go Mocha over black. I think if you avoid gray you need to have a starker contrast in color with the interior than the terra.
FYI: Sea deck will send samples of colors.
Cobalt won't give permission any more to use their logo......Thanks for the reminder Nauti!

Is there a color option to pick up the sandstone stripe on the hull? If not, then the mocha seems to be a good match, and I like it. The terra is too loud and, in my view, clashes with the rest of the interior. Does your boat currently have snaps for carpet? If so, then personally I would go with seagrass--I'm not a big fan of the Sea Deck material throughout the boat.

I was going to say do Terra and blue lines. Match the boat.

Appreciate it Big Block, but I don't think I'm that adventurous. I'll wait to see someone else do it first, and if I like it, I'll then consider it a 2k+ mistake on my end, haha!
