Does anyone use their built-in Cobalt cooler? Is it any better or worse than other boat coolers?

I'm curious if a 10lb. bag of ice will last the day.

I just purchased my first Cobalt this weekend.

Hey DB, welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

I've used the built in self draining coolers. A 5 pound bag of ice lasts all day in ours.

I also throw ice in the swim platform cooler and that lasts about half a day due to warm lake water washing up onto the platform at times.

Would you be able to post any pics of your new baby? :D

Again, welcome aboard mate!

We use the two built in coolers, 10lb each and it lasts all day no problem.

We're in a hotter climate here and ice will last all day in my coolers. The one one the swimdeck will only last a couple of hours though, so I don't use it anymore.

We have different model but use ours every time out & works great. Welcome, good to have another Kentuckian on the forum.

I "think" our 232 has one, but to be honest we have never used it. We greatly prefer using a soft sided RTIC cooler for our day outings. 30 can version is good for us and guests for any needs we have. Easy to carry out at the end of the day as well.

Welcome neighbor and fellow member of the CRC... CANDIED RED CLUB!

So do you do all your boating on the Ohio River?

We have a slip at Captain’s Quarters and spend more time on the Ohio than anywhere else. I do pull to Lake Cumberland at least twice per year and Norris Lake in TN 2-3 times per year. We have friends with houses at both lakes.

Do you go to Party Cove across from CQ?

The only time we've been on the Ohio is when we did our test drive! Boat stays at Dale hollow and we occasionally tow over to cumberland to see some friends there.

Nice looking boat!

Last Aug 1, I yanked my boat full of Budlight and a 10lb bag of ice to a CPR cert class that met from 8am-3pm, so we could hit Lake Geneva right after. I don't think we lost a single ice cube during class ;)
