My apologies. It would seem that I am asking a whole slew of questions all the time. Thanks again for being patient with me!

I bought an onboard charger for my boat. My mechanic said to mount it in the "Engine compartment on one of the bulkhead facing aft as high as possible." Is that behind that bench seat that spans across the back of the cockpit?

I'm a visual learner, so any pix would be super helpful

Here is where I mounted my dual battery charger on our 232. I had to offset it to the right of center so the rear deck would clear it easily. It's a ProMariner ProTournament 240, which is a little overkill, but got it as open box for $75. Can't go wrong for a $300 charger. Will charge both my group 24 batteries in 6 hrs from dead (supposedly). I've never had to do that.

I've only got it mounted using 2 bolts, but it's super tight and stable in there.

Mounting it was easy. It was acquiring and running dual extension cables cleanly out of sight to each battery that took the time. Lots of contortionist moves required.

And also installed a Marinco plug port on the starboard walkthrough, so I can plug in the charger from ground level without opening the hatch. The cover can also fit over the boat with it plugged in. Can also lift the engine hatch with the charger plugged in and it clears all cables. Took some time to figure out the best spot to allow all that to occur.

Again, took a ton of time and needed to drill a hole through the boat (always fun). Great end result though. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Great pix JT!! Man I would have never guessed to mount one where you did. I would agree you got a screaming deal on your charger!!

I can also see where you have it plugged in (buy the engine) and that seems pretty out of the way. I would think bolts in opposite corners would hold just fine. I guess I'll have to see where mine will fit once I get it. Did you have to lengthen the leads to reach your battery on the Starboard side?

I don't have space there on my 220 to mount it where you guys did. I think I'm gonna put it sideways right here (or on the one on the other side of the boat). Is that a "bulkhead?"

Yes, I needed lead extensions to route the cabling cleanly and out of sight where I wanted to. Extensions are cheap, and I care more about hidden wiring.

You can see the plug in my pic, but that was only at the time of installation. It's been tucked away and zip tied hidden up under the trim at this point.

I also looked at a new 220 last year with one of the yellow chargers installed just like mine and tgrace's (roughly). They got it to fit. I wish I took a picture but didn't.

I looked at mounting my charger there but was worried but the weight on there long term. I ended up mounting mine facing backwards on the bulkhead.

Careful not to drill through the bottom of your boat.

What exactly is a bulkhead?

My 2005 engine hatch looks a little different than the engine areas that have been posted. I don't have the room to mount mine where others have

My 2003 looks just like yours.
I place it in front of the engine half way between the batteries. Just under your stowed stern light.
