Hey KS17, welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

Sorry to hear about your electrical woes with the engine and radio.

My first thought is a loose wire on the ignition switch. If you disconnect a wire at the switch, your engine and all electrics will turn off. You may be simulating that by hitting a decent size wake or any waves which will momentarily disconnect the current running from one of those wires on the back of the ignition switch if it is loose.

Look under the dash and see if one of the wires to that switch is loose. Should be an easy fix by tightening one of the screws. You may have to take that switch out if you cannot see it from under the dash.

Any pics?

Again, welcome aboard mate!

Welcome. I take it she fires right back up. Check your wire on the back of the alt too they like to loosen up. You have a 50 amp breaker back by the engine check those wires as well. Yes like A7 said check your wires going to the switch behind the helm. Also check you kill switches.

Alternator wire could be another culprit (like bbp mentioned). Basically looking for a chafed or loose wire somewhere since the radio is cutting out at the same time.

Went to check it out after work. Found a loose cable behind the ignition that I tightened. Hopefully that will fix it. Won’t know until I hit the lake. I checked everything else and it all seemed to be fine. I’ll let y’all know. Thanks for the help!

Just to do an update, took the boat out this weekend, hit large wakes on purpose to try to kill the motor and it never died. Looks like tightening the ignition wires worked. thanks again
