I picked up the R5 today from getting a custom cover made for it. Hopefully it will provide better protection than the factory mooring cover.

Wow that's a cover. Nice job. I can't believe that boat fit under your canopy. It's like it was planned.

What’s the saying? “ Measure once? Twice? “ or is “ Measure after”

I forget...
Looks great Jeeper !! Should be easy to rinse off and go!

I had t the canopy built after I ordered the boat, we measured a in stock R5 on a EZ loader trailer and had the canopy built 3” taller then the tower. Then they switched to a Boat Mate trailer and apparently it is a little taller. It clears by less than a inch at the front, at least I don’t have to fold the tower to get it to fit.

Boy that looks great! For winter storage it would be the bomb, but I'd hate to put that badboy on in the slip every weekend, I bet it's a booger. But I'm really digging the hull protection.

I haven’t taken it off yet, the guy that sold it to me said it’s a two person job. I will probably just use the snap on covers when I’m boating a lot. Hopefully I will find time to actually get it in the water soon.

Love the cover, not sure I love those strings. Could have went with 1" wide quick release buckle straps and used half as many. Way easier to install/remove, and do a better job without knots.
I guess this is not a trailerable cover anyway though, so strings may be fine if you have the patience for it. Carry on.

The straps and buckles probably would have been better. They didn’t offer it as a option and I didn’t think to ask about it, my last two boats had the rope system and it seemed to work. As far as a travel cover 30 mph is pretty much top speed, I pulled it 5 miles to get home but I don’t think I’ll do that again.

you will be fine. Just wondered, as that was the very obvious first question that jumped in my mind when I saw your pic.
