Has anyone ever swapped out twin small blocks for big blocks in a 282? Or possibly ran blowers on the existing small bocks after building them of course? I thought about just selling mine and finding one but I have customized it just the way I want it and would take a good loss if I did such a thing.

With enough money you can do anything you want. Blowers are going to run you $10k each for a stage 1 setup, not including any engine work. What small blocks are in it now?

Merc power I’m assuming so it’s an interesting thought. And owning a 282 with twin Volvo 8.1 I could see it going faster still. I’m sure like me you know how stable these hulls are at speed .. Here comes the but.

It’s not a stepped hull and the outdrives run so deep that these big girls will porpoise at 1/4 trim. Mine pulls like a bat out of hell until 68 mph, and then all those disadvantages show up ( someday 70)

Merc superchargers through whipple and others can be tuned down to 2-3 lbs of boost for ease but you’ll be under boost most of the time.

I’m probably only a few mph faster than you in top end but where the big blocks shine is running F9 props so 50mph is 3300 rpm all day.
I would wait until you fall in loce with a stock BB version as once you update the power next update would be Bravo drives to X series .
