Will the tow eye on a Cobalt 220S hold ok for towing Tubes. I hear different stories.

Yes on the transom. That's what is designed for.

Tow eye yes - tower no.

Course both our tower and ski eye had the same warning sticker that said do not exceed 1,000lbs so maybe either would be ok. I just hate putting that much stress on the tower.

+2. The tower on my R5 Surf is damn sturdy but I don't use it for a tube.

All towers will specify NOT to tow tubes from it. If a tube submarines it can literally rip the tower off the boat, or at least cause some serious fiberglass damage. The tow eye and transom eyes are all acceptable for tube, and I've had 3 tubes out, one hooked to each.

I'm not saying I would use a tower to pull tubes, but there are towers that are rated for it. And a good slalom skier can put over 1,000 pounds of force on your tow point.

Isn't it the further aft you put the ski rope for the tubers the more of a pivot point it makes? You can really whip em around!

My tube gets submarined by my boat, I have to use the ball to get around that...just fyi
