New 19' CS 22 - Vibration & Issues

New to the page and new to Cobalt. I have had/driven boats for about 15 years (last boat was a twin 4.3l 290 SR sundancer). This boat is a big change for me. I am looking for some advice. All pictures down below.
After one weekend I've actually had quite a few issues with the boat after I picked it up. During the sea trial I found that one gauge was not working and that there was a vibration at a slightly above idle RPM. Also a nasty vibration when I trimmed the boat down. I was told that the low RPM vibration was due to the counter-rotating prop (which I've never had before or driven), and that the vibration from the trim was due to the sterndrive hitting the bottom of its trim limit and that I should just let off the trim. So after one weekend the problem keeps happening. Also the gauges that were supposed to be fixed are going wackjob.
One last thing, which is perhaps the most upsetting, is the bimini support rod cotter pin/spring does not work and came loose several times on a rough day and cracked my tower paint. We were a far away out (huge lake) and literally had to use a bandaid to keep it from happening (LOL). My questions are:
1. Are either of those vibrations "normal"? I mentioned it in the sea trial and even put it on the paperwork.
2. Has anyone ever experienced this with a new boat? I understand S&%# happens, but if the factory didn't catch it, the "5 star" dealer that claims to inspect all of their boats "on the water" should have right? I'm totally incompetent when it comes to these boats and dualprops.
Going to miss another couple weeks of boating due to this, so I'm not very happy...

Welcome, sorry to hear about the issues you're having. The vibration from the duoprop is a real thing. I had my props balanced and it made it better, but I still get a slow speed vibration from it. The Volvo drive don't have trim limit switches so I also believe you would get a vibratoin when the trim hits the physical stops and the pump is still running.
As to your other issues, that just sounds like bad QC from both the factory and the dealer. Seems to be more threads like this popping up recently unfortunately...

Welcome to the Coblatchat forum. So glad you found us!
Like Akor mentioned, sorry to hear about your Cobalt woes. You should not be having any vibration issues...especially with a new boat. Your dealer will definitely make this right. Have you mentioned this to them. For what you paid, this baby should be delivered in perfect condition.

That color scheme is awesome.
I hear a rattle from my Bimini when I hit a big wave. Is this typical?

Thanks everyone! I love the boat. There was a bunch of other things that happened that made me unhappy, mainly on the dealers end so won't talk about that here.
Thanks for letting me know about the duoprop, I've never heard about it and couldn't find anything about vibration from duoprops on google.
It just seemed odd that an 11k lb twin engine carb boat was smoother in those aspects than a new cobalt.
I will say in downsizing it is nice not having to worry so much about wind, current, moon phase, magnetic field etc. when docking in a tight space.

Before balancing my props I had a small vibrating. Not anymore. I would compare it to another new boat that they have. What we think we feel could be totally diff then what your getting. I think you may have a wiring prob with your guage as it's pinned full.
Those binimi pins can pop out in rough water. I'm very careful on which way I point them so they don't but you have to watch them. I kind of wish mine had the little ball bearing at the end as a back up to prevent it from popping out.

Sorry to hear about your problems. While I find the spring locking pins to be a pain to fix in place, I never had one come out. Still I plan to replace mine with a plunger release spring loaded ball bearing pin on my new boat. Some thing like this:

I’ve used them for years to connect the tiller handle to the steering crossbar on my 16’ Hobie Cat and in 35 years of sailing, the original part has never failed. One hand affair to fix it in place too.

I have the 220 with the VP duo prop. I didn’t notice any vibes through the rev range. Mine is brand new so I would not be happy either.Definitely get it checked, maybe at a different dealer.

same boat here with Volvo dp 240. I have right at 30 hours now and no vibrations. Definitely work with your dealer.
