lost anchor for windlass- need specs to order new one

Post by Patriot 8713 »

I broke the rope trying to get the anchor unstuck yesterday and lost everything. I need the measurements in order a new one. If anyone can get those for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I need overall length of the main anchor shaft. Pics would be great if possible.

Sorry to hear .. but it’s easy to remedy.
There are two companies involved. 1st your anchor is a 14lb Delta by lewmar. You may have had a all stainless version but the Galvanized will look and be the same.
2nd is your chain/ rope combo. As early maxwells took a 8mm or 10mm depending on rigging I would call to be sure as it does make a difference.

I would image by the year you have a early version RC10 by Maxwell.
I would get the rope chain combo from them as it will mesh perfectly.

I got everything replaced and all is working awesome. I called and talked to a Maxwell tech and he explained why it has to be a 8 plait rope and how the chain diameter and spacing is so important. He was awesome and sent me the owners and service manual for my windlass. Mine is a discontinued model (Freedom 500), but they still have all the necessary repair parts available. Thanks to all who helped!

FYI...darkhorsemarine.com had the best price on the rope and chain. I found them on Amazon.
