Hi all,
Had the 232 out for the first time since having the outdrive serviced. All was fine except the speedometer would read for a while (accurately) then drop to zero. Keep doing that at random throughout the day. I jumped in and made sure nothing was blocking the port on the drive and all felt ok.
After getting it home I tried to clear anything in the pitot tube using a ⅛" drill bit (by hand), and got nothing out. Checked the hose connection piece and all feels tight and fine. I then went to the dash and blew compressed air through the hose towards the back. I blew into a white cloth and all that came out was some water (no pieces to think a blockage).
I did not get to try it after blowing it out, so it may be fixed, but wondered about the hose routing in the outdrive. I traced the hose around and it is loosely zip tied and is routed around a couple hoses. I am thinking that maybe with the drive trimmed down all the way the hose was partially pinched, and that's the cause for the random readings? I did not play with the trim while on the water to see if it made a difference (didn't occur to me until after).
Anyone have any experience with this, or have good pics of how it should be routed in the outdrive?
The service tech did it, so I'm thinking it's correct but worth asking.

Here's how I fixed mine. https://www.amazon.com/Faria-33839-Ches ... B017QRHYQC GPS - no hoses or pitot. Accurate even at very low speeds.

I would buy it in a heartbeat if they have one with the Smartcraft display in the bottom. Or maybe not smartcraft as I have the VP engine, but whatever that is called. Mine has that and I really like it.posloke123 wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:36 pm Here's how I fixed mine. https://www.amazon.com/Faria-33839-Ches ... B017QRHYQC GPS - no hoses or pitot.
