Is the Deep Vee 18 (dv18) the same as to BR18 ..?

I was told my boat is a DV18 but I find few references to it and none in the ‘87 manual I downloaded from Cobalt’s web site that claims to cover all models.. in wondering if perhaps my boat is actually a Bow Rider 18 and perhaps they’re synonymous...?
Thoughts..?

Ok.. I think I found the answer.. my year, 1987, appears to be the last year that the Deep Vee (DV) 18 was made and perhaps there just aren’t tons out there anymore.. what the diffs are between it and the Bow Rider 18 is beyond me.. anyway, just thought I’d put this out there for the future person who might have the same question..

Hey thanks for the follow up CR. Wish I could help you. Some others with the early generation Cobalt models may chime in though.

No problem.. I guess I found it a bit disconcerting that the manual available for '87 that covers all models for that year does not cover the DV18.. Who knows .. maybe mine was the one and only one for that model year for all I know.. lol

Everything I found shows the DV18 ending production in ‘86, maybe yours is an ‘86 that was sold on ‘87? The HIN should have the model date code in it. If that’s the case the the BR18 was probably the replacement for the DV18. Just guessing.

Great! Thanks for that! I’ll go and download the ‘86 manual set then and see what it has for me.. maybe I can find the magic decoder ring for the HIN just to put this completely to rest in my head.. thanks much!!
