Hello all, was just given a 1995 222 with 5.8. Was told the motor was blown but it looks like they just floated a valve. So ready to get her in the water. This may be a strange question but I have looked everywhere and can't find anything. Are those ice chests in the floor? Thanks in advance. :?:

Hey ShawnO. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!

Congratulations on your score. Any pics?

I’m guessing you are talking about the ski locker in the floor. They are normally quite large. Of course feel free to fill them with ice and use them as a giant cooler. They are self draining too. :D

Again, welcome aboard mate!

No I see the storage locker, this has two smaller panels behind that. The inside is white on both and have drains. Thanks for the welcome!

White with drains....yes that sounds like the coolers. That’s what ours look like too.

Thanks for the album pics. 👌🏻

Wow, Shawn O! That is awesome. A free Cobalt. A little elbow grease and she’ll shine like new. Welcome aboard.

Thanks! well almost ready to put her in the water and noticed the courtesy lights are not working. No inline fuse, the light on the dash indicates they are on, "breakers" are good. Bulbs work (tested outside the boat) any ideas?

Give them a temp ground see if they come on. Poor ground somewhere. Trace and follow your wiring

Quick fix it to look up under the helm at the back of the switch and check for a loose/off spade connection on the back of the switch. The switch is getting power, which is why the dash lights up, but the output isn't getting to the rest of the circuit.

She ran out beautifully today. So happy with her. It was a bit choppy and she cut through like a knife. After rebuild and polish she was the best looking boat at the lake. I might be partial though. 🤣
