Thinking about installing a couple of the following devices to automatically turn off interior lights, underwater lights after a certain amount of time to avoid draining 2nd battery. Anyone tried similar?

Great idea . But the amperage of only 10 maybe the weak point. Sliderule May chime in as he uses a system for mooring with underwater lights.

SRR indeed used the units from timers.shop for his setup. I ordered one, wired it up, programmed it and installed yesterday:

Temporarily installed on my LED accent lighting to test:

Installed to UW Lights in engine box:

This is what I bought:

There is an excellent manual, videos, cookbooks, etc. Programming wasnt difficult, but having said this, I'm in the software development business. You program with clicks on the programming jig ($5):

Its really not that hard for basic setups like mine.
I put Deutch connectors on the power in (Red/Black), power out (Yellow/Black) to make installation really simple. The Green/White wires are used by the programming jig, and the blue wire is used for triggering more complex timer scenarios. While my installation is simple it also doesnt allow me to do what SRR setup. In SRR's config, the timer is always powered, and the switch on the dash is wired to the trigger input.
Right now, I just have it set to automatically turn off after 40 minutes.
Great little device with tons of useful applications!
