Decisions on buying

So I am not new to boating but new to Cobalt. Looking at two different boats right now and need some help deciding.

2013 242 WSS with 320 Volvo. 150 hours, no trailer. Price is 57K

2016 R3 WSS with 300 Volovo. 80 hours, trailer included. Price is $68

Might be able to work the 242 down a tad more, but probably not much. Both optioned pretty much the same besides the engines.

Thoughts??

I’d get the r3. Newer motor gen 5 5.3 vs the old 350. Better seat layout. I like the higher freeboard on the r series. Down the road it will be easier to get parts for the r3. Just my 2 cents

Agreed with everything tgrace98 said. It's worth more than 2 cents I give it a dime.

Baller talk!
Yes I agree with Tgrace and BB as the R3 will incorporate all the latest Cobalt tech and interior design as well.

Based on engine alone take the new generation GM 5.3 300 hp. The 5.7 is a fine poweplant but after owning the 5.3 I would take it any day over the older cast iron 5.7. I love mine.

I own a 2011 242. You're going to lose some space and storage in the R3, but I think it is the better deal in the long run. Especially if you plan on trailering. My dock neighbor has a new R5 and there is far less space (or it appears so) than my boat.

Thanks for all the input, it is appreciated. True, the 242 gives me about a foot more in length, but thought the new R series was a tad bit more room side to side. 242 is rated for 1 more person than the R3. Those area all things I am weighing in my decision. I am probably leaning more towards the R3, just because newer and has warranty still where the 2013 doesn't.

Open for more opinions though. Thanks!

Is there another color? Yes I know the other one is red. I would pass on that one.
