Volvo 380-c-b 2013 Sea Water pump leaking

I just noticed a slight leak from what I think is the pump body. Is there a common reason for this to start leaking? It does not seem like it is the cover housing the impeller. I would hate to replace the pump housing when I can go a less costly route. I can do the work myself, I'm comfortable doing it. It seems like the water is dripping slightly from the machined slot at the bottom of the pump body. Any ideas are appreciated.

Mine did the same at the start of the season. It seems there is a seal on the shaft which drives the impeller thru the pump housing. Mine was a fairly quick drip and only when the engine was up to operating temp. I think they replaced the entire housing to solve the problem, but not sure. It wasn't a cheap fix for me. If I recall correctly around $500 including labor.

Driller,

That sounds just like mine. I just ordered a new pump yesterday for $385. It looks like a straight-forward easy change.

I replaced it this past weekend. It was simple and straight forward. One word of caution, the new version is a bit longer of a body than the original and it gave me pause that the steel arm bracket was going to be long enough, but it was just fine.
