Hi All,

End of the season for us and my boat was hauled out on Friday. I had been experiencing a vibration which is felt through the seat and is most apparent at around 3,000 RPM. I didn't try running the engine up to 3,000 in neutral before I hauled it out, but the dealer (who hauled the boat out for me) said that often vibration can result from a nicked or otherwise damaged prop.

When the boat was hauled out, I noticed a bit of scratching on the end of one blade on the rear prop and a very slight dent (rear prop - blade in the 9:00 position). Dealer isn't sure if that would cause the vibration (he felt it on a short drive before we hauled the boat out), but sales it is possible.

What do you guys think? Is the prop responsible?

PS I know the hull needs a good cleaning.

From the pictures of the leading edge nick if it had caused a blade to move slightly from its natural rake, then yes.
Without experiencing it I’m not see anything alarming.
Have the props removed and checked for blade rake angle, and then balancing.

I have nothing to add to the vibration. But look at all the algae on the hull

Bob the good thing is the r5 and 430 won't have that problem. See problem solved.

Yes any dent in a prop can cause a vibration. Is it causing this one. Had to say till next year if it's gone after they get fixed.
Another Member had to have his engine pulled as they found a issue with a bolt or coupler or something like that on their new boat. Find that thread of you can.

Never mind the props...take that thing straight to the detailer. I can't even...

I knew I shouldn't have posted pictures. But, based on the last boat's condition after spring acid wash and cleanup, I know it will look like new this spring before I put it in the water. My preference is a lift, but there is no such facility at my marina, so its a cleanup every year.

spring acid wash?? I would want that done at winterization.

Bob you know we would have never picked on it if you didn't say anything about it. Ok no we still would have.
It's going to be a long off season too find you a new even series boat for next year.

I couldn't sleep at night knowing my boat was tucked away in that condition. Do us all a favor and clean her up now!

Bob, have you considered the idea that the vibration is being caused by all those creatures trying to hold on while you're underway!
