Hey Travis, welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

We have quite a few R owners here who will offer some great advice. We value any input you may have as well. You are going to love the smooth ride, Cobalt quality, and quietness (if CC is closed of course :D ) --especially coming from a jet boat. Of course pictures are a must. Is this your first Cobalt?

Again, welcome aboard mate!

Welcome from Missouri and a fellow R7 owner. Congrats on your purchase! As far as the questions you have here are my thoughts

VP380 - Love the motor, the throttle response, time to plane, and instant power it displays. I came from a 262 with a 496 volvo motor and I do not miss the big block at all. Some people say the VP motor is loud but I find it rather quiet coming from a Big block and captains call

I have the foldable tower with the bimini and I love it. With the bimini deployed it shades a good portion of the boat and can stay deployed while underway. My only complaint is it is rather tedious to fold in and out and requires a extra set of hands to deploy or fold in the bimini

I went with the Sea grass carpet and so far no complaints. It can get hot in the sun on a 95+ degree day but splash some water on it and it cools. and it dries rather quickly

We live in Lancaster P.A. but have a vacation home on the upper Chesapeake bay just below the c&d canal. We love it there and only an hour and a half from home. We boat all weekend with 2 kids age 9 and 11 who love wake boarding and exploring new areas. A few times a summer we take longer day trips to rock hall,Baltimore or Annapolis and I think the extra weight and a few feet longer will make the longer trips more enjoyable. Can’t wait to enjoy the new boat.

Just notified that our boat is in production!!! Awesome we are very excited and looking forward to next years season of boating.just got back from 8 days in the Bahamas and loved seeing all the mega yachts at Atlantis . Our dealer in Chesapeake city md said they should have the boat in about a month so we can sit in it as it snows outside sounds like an event.
