Hi, I’m brokentoy1. I recently purchased a new to me 2002 206 with the 5.7Gi and Duoprops. My family and I live in Kansas, but prefer to boat at Table Rock.

I’m currently working on a few projects on the boat and will post some pictures soon. Side note, would you do a free air JL m10w5 or build a box for one?

Welcome from Oklahoma! We have a couple of members that live in Kansas and drive to TRL. You'll need to put the Cobalt Regatta on your calendar for next summer!

What projects do you have going on? And as far as the sub, theres a ton of threads on them. I wouldn't build a box, I'd find a place to mount it, like forward of port seat, on the port side between the seat and bulkhead, or in the cabin someplace.

Right now I’m working on the stereo. I’ve installed new Kenwood remotes at the helm and on the transom. I just finished up installing 6 new Kicker 6.5” speakers and a Kicker 5 channel amp. Next I will be doing a JL 10” sub. But I can’t decide between building a box or doing the free air version. It will be mounted under the glovebox area on the passenger side. After that’s done I need to change out the trim sender on the drive. I also think it would be a good idea to check out the trailer bearings and brakes.

If you have all kicker now want change to jl for a sub. I'm a guy that likes everything to match.
Go free air and be done. It's a boat not a car, make sure you replace the cup holders. It's mandatory. SS only way to go.
Did we get pictures yet? Rule #9
Don't worry I don't follow Kate's rules either. We are rebels!!

I had Kicker subs in my old Baja, I didn’t care for them that much.

Yea I'm not a kicker fan in general. Too much bass for me. I'm more of a mid to treble guy.

BTOY Let us know when you are traveling to TR. We have a home there and would welcome you to the " Liquid Lounge"
On the sub question go open air. If you want to "shake" the water go with twin subs with a dedicated amp!

Welcome. Any reason you decided to start on the stereo as opposed to... idk... brakes and bearings?
