New depth gauge
I hate the oem depth gauge. I’ve had nothing but problems trying to operate that thing. So I got a new one. Pretty much plug and play install except for the 2” hole. And it works perfectly....

Re: New depth gauge
Looks good. I'm with you. The bad thing is most of our older ones have separate depth and temp screens. Sucks.

Re: New depth gauge
Faria Boat Depth Sounder Gauge DS0110A | Chesapeake SS White 2 Inch. I purchased it on eBay through Great Lakes skipper. Around $90 shipped. It has a red backlight similar to the old one. The toggle switch is not used anymore, I’m going to put a black snap in plug there.

yup, been trying to figure out what to do with those since I got the boat. Neither works and the way they are positioned I can't think of anything to replace them with...Big Block Power wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2020 5:59 pm Looks good. I'm with you. Re: New depth gauge
Nope it won't happen this year for me. But now seeing that new member posted that place in Florida that custom makes dash's gives me ideas to add a chart plotter there or I'm even thinking of something else but I don't think I have enough room up in the dash.akorcovelos wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 1:48 pmyup, been trying to figure out what to do with those since I got the boat. Re: New depth gauge
Appreciate the follow up, if I can’t get my current one to play nicely after adding some RV antifreeze, I will go this route. Did it use the same transducer?

Re: New depth gauge
Yes, the old transducer plugged right into it. The black wire is the ground and purple is 12v. Very simple install.

Yea that transducer is the down side of these also. I like this fit though!Dudley67 wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 5:47 pm Appreciate the follow up, if I can’t get my current one to play nicely after adding some RV antifreeze, I will go this route. Did it use the same transducer?

Re: New depth gauge
I purchased the same faria gauge and an in hull transducer. My 98 200 did not have the depth gauge.
I’m not too knowledgeable about electronics - where does the hot wire connect to? I could wire to a spare switch - cap call or accessory - or should I connect elsewhere?

That's what I did. Just remember to flip the switch on -- which, maybe, someone forgot to do.
