Muffs

Sharing my bad fortune. If you have a Bravo drive, never use muffs like the ones in the picture on the left. Buy yourself a pair like the ones on the right! Both pair were about the same cost, except the pair on the left cost me $500 to replace a one year old impeller and several days of trying to get all the impeller pieces out of the raw water system!

Sorry to hear Samuri, I never use the wrap around muffs unless I have someone there watching it the whole time.

Correction, it was the muffs on the left that slid down and cost me the big money! Anyone know how to edit a post?

Ako, it was an expensive lesson to learn, hopefully I can save one person from doing what I did. :(

Fixed the post for ya’ S33.

I’ve never had any issues with the muff type after using them for over 30 years. That being said, I’ll definitely keep a closer eye on them.

Nope. Notice the garden hose going to the connection.

Another great option. 👌
