Slowing down my 226 in reverse

I've only driven my 2001 226 a couple of times since buying it, but it seems to go too fast in reverse when leaving it's berth at the Marina. Is this a straightforward adjustment?

Welcome to dual prop. Shoots back like a rocket. It takes a big to get used to. No adjustment. Normal. Hint bump it in reverse them back to neutral and so on Till you get used to it.

Yes, I have quickly adapted to that. I gave it a shot of gas in reverse while leaving our dock and it jumped. My Wife was wondering if I was nuts. Tomorrow morning, I will go fill er up with some Fresh gas from this year, not last year and keep poking and prodding around the boat. Any tips for adjusting the trim while underway or starting out Big BlockP Power??

Starting out drive all the way down. You really have to listen to the engine it tells you alot. You can hear it working hard when your on plane and trimmed down as you are on plane and you start to trim it up you will hear the engine smooth out. Free up. That's a good thing. Dual props Dont need much trim. Keep bumping up the trim till the bow bounces a bit or the engine revs and doesn't gain speed then trim it back down a touch. If your doing water sports keep it trimmed down all the time. I think John has a good thread on this as well in the general boating category.
