Loving my 2010 242!

Purchased a 2010 242 and making it nice. Just installed SeaDek teak on the platform and entry way. I need a new mooring/ trailer cover. By the way, this cover is a pain. The ratchet straps are located I/3 back from the bow, the only way to apply on a mooring is by paddleboard (which I use anyway to get out to the boat ). I am just about to replace the tiny led switch illumination on the instrument panel . They are so tiny and very difficult to wire up.

Hey 242. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!
Nice post too. Great pics. You are going to LOVE that extra extended swim platform. It makes the boat seem so much larger for folks on it.
Which Volvo Penta engine is powering her? Got any interior or engine compartment pics?
Tell us about the tow rig too. Why paddle board when you can just drive that snorkel equipped land MOG machine to her.

Be sure to post pics of your tow rig
here. It will be a nice addition.
Again welcome aboard mate!

Jeez, I didn’t think there were any Mog fans here but alrighty then. I have a little bit of a sickness with mogs, just have a few. When I launched the boat at the ramp people were flipping out. This one guy had a $800,000, four engine huge center console and was even like “ dam, that is the sickest tow rig I have ever seen!” I kinda stole his thunder, I felt bad. It’s a 1990 u1200 Mog! As for the boat, it’s got the 5.7 in her. Goes ok but not big block. Today I added a hatch holder to the port storage area. Well needed. She’s in good shape for a salt water unit. I am heading up to lake George, ny this week with her and so excited. Lake George is the Mecca for cobalts! Nice to meet you all! Scott

I have a shop in New York called Expedition Imports. I don’t really work on them. Just my own stuff. I have a European Bosch shop in which I work on everything now. There is a guy in the West Coast with the same shop name which he does deal in Unimog’s And his name is Scott as well. Funny. I’ve been into these things since I’ve been 14 years old, Now I’m 46. The green one, I just finished restoring after six years, the orange one I pretty much commute and daily drive to my shop. The green one I just finished restoring after six years and was completely rotted out, it previously was yellow. Last year my orange truck was hit by a 20,000 pound tree and smashed the roof down to the dashboard. I also rebuilt the truck. It’s definitely a labor of love
