Newbie to boating and Cobalts. Bought the boat new, but it's a 2015 (got lost in inventory) YAY for me. I'm one of those guys that will over research something until I find exactly what I'm looking for. Anyway, boats in AR but I live in IN (family has a house on the lake down there and much cheaper to keep the boat there rather than in IN).

Look forward to talking with everyone.

Welcome to the gang! I really like your boat. How crazy is it that you misplace something that expensive in inventory to be found two years later? Good for you that you found it! I wouldn't want to do that dealers books at the end of the year... you might want to document everything those folks do or say just to keep a record if they're that careless

Thanks for the suggestion. I got all the required documents from Cobalt and called to validate before pulling the trigger.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

I over-research everything as well so you should fit in just fine around here. Beautiful boat.

Very cool. we had a President from that state that forgot what he was doing in the white house too. Must be something in the water there.

Kind of how I ended up in a Cobalt, however it wasn't the Cobalt that was lost as I ordered my R3 new. I began my search for a new to me boat in July...was leaning towards a Chaparral. Client of mine had done well with a dealer in Nebraska that I will not name on a new Four Winns a couple of years ago. I was browsing their inventory and found a brand new unsold 2018 Chaparral 247SSX loaded the way I wanted it with a 350 VP. He actually had two of them that had gotten "lost" in the back of the warehouse. Made a deal, financing/contracts in the mail to him overnight...called and said he had sold it the night before my paperwork got there. Reworked a new deal on the second boat which wasn't loaded the way I wanted exactly but could be taken care of aftermarket...overnighted paperwork again...only to get the same call all over again that a salesman had sold the boat the night before...then kept trying to push me into a 2018 Chaparral 267SSX that wasn't what I wanted. Frustrated and angry beyond words, told him to pound sand and called another client of mine that is an avid boater. He sent me to his Cobalt dealer and the rest is history...but I agree, how do you "lose" that kind of money in inventory?
