R3 Swim Step options

Hello everyone, I recently purchased the R3 and am new to this forum. My wife is having issues getting out of the water on the swim step. I welcome any thoughts/opinions on how I can remedy this. I was thinking some sort of a rope ladder but I am not sure this will work. I spoke with the dealer but they have not gotten back to me.
Thank you.
Frank

Hey Frank. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!
Others have mentioned the same issue here on the forum. A ladder option has been discussed. No solutions that Iām aware of yet.
Any pics of your R3? Is this your first Cobalt?
Others will chime in shortly.
Again welcome aboard mate!

For anyone that is interested there looks like there is a couple of options to address the issues of using the swim step. I contacted cobalt directly and it looks like the brackets for the R5 will work on the R3 and will drop the step an additional 3 inches maybe this will work with an additional grab rail?? I have been told that there is an optional step ladder (not cheap) that can be attached to the side of the platform. I will post additional information as it becomes available.

Make sure to climb step rear-end first. Much easier than facing boat.

Thanks. I have no problem with the swim step it's my wife as she has no real upper body strength and is hampered by a bad knee. I am hoping the R5 swim brackets which will lower the step 3 inches does the trick.

We had a r3 r5 r7 next to each other and the r5 had long brackets. But I'm wondering then if the step is gong to set into the platform and then become a tripping hazard? I guess going to have to see. I personally don't think it's enough to help. It is better than nothing though. Hopefully Matt or t5billion or someone has a better picture than mine. It's hard to tell.
