Drove my 1986 17BR home. Now I have no power to my key/ignition switch. Little fuse not blown and can't find a wiring diagram large enough to read. Any ideas as to why no power. Radio works and trailer /trim works.

Hey TL. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!

Possible battery switch issue..Really just sounds like a loose connection somewhere...unless you killed the battery. Do you have a multimeter?

Any pics of your baby?

Again welcome aboard mate!

I checked the wires going into the switch and no juice. None of the breakers are blown that I can see. The one little fuse under the instrument panel is ok. I'll be checking it out a little more today. Do you know if there're are any hidden fuses that I have to dig for? Thanks for replying. The battery has juice, because the stereo works and the trim/trailer buttons work and I can raise and lower the drive.

Battery switch on 1986 17 BR? Is there such a thing and where is it? Boat has power, just none getting to the instrument panel and ignition switch. Any ideas?

The trim works because they write those direct same with the bilge pump and someone rewired the stereo. Check under your rear seats for a red perko looking switch or back by the engine. It could be turned to off.

Do you have a main circuit breaker on the top of your engine?

Lol. How stupid. Fretted and wasted time over this electric issue. Downloaded a step by step wire checklist, checked all the wires in the stern, there is fuse box and all kinds of power. Went to start checking out the helm, decided to mess with the shifter and jiggled it. Turned the key and whalaa. Power. What a dumbass, that's the first thing I should have checked.
Now off to the exhaust and impeller. Thanks for all your input.

I did find out there is no fuse box, but all the electrics work except now my auxillary switch isn't working to my fish finder/depth gauge. Weird. Lol.
