I just purchased a 1999 cobalt 252 has some hull blister issues but seems like it will work for us and our young kids we don't get out as often as we would like. Overall seems to be in fair shape. We are coming from a 19 foot maxum we were looking for something about 22 feet long so hopefully this isn't to big for the lakes we use it on. We also plan to head over to stillwater and make it out on the st. Croix this summer

Best I have right now. Still in storage till spring. I am going to pull the front seats out to be re upholstered if they are not to hard to pull. And pull the batterys out so they can trickle charge all winter.

Pulling out the seats isn't difficult, and that should help spruce up the interior quite a bit. I think you'll appreciate the added size on the St Croix (or Mississippi, or Minnetonka) with all the big boats that run around on weekends and the waves on breezy days.

Gelcoat flaws aren't the end of the world, and are possibly a DIY touchup if you're the handy type.

Welcome from another resident of frozen MN, or not quite frozen this year... It’s definitely been a weird warm fall, 52 degrees in December is unheard of here! We mainly boat on the St. Croix launching out of the Windmill marina in Afton. Where did you purchase the 252 from? You will have plenty of time for a little sprucing up this winter. Maybe we will see you out there next summer!

Bought if from a local that kept it on Minnetonka in wayzata Bay. We are from the north metro so hopefully we can find a nice launch near stillwater.

Yea not sure i emailed a few repair shops around the area and they said it looks like the top layer and it should be fine for the day trips we will use it for. We don't plan to leave it in a slip anymore. I will get better pictures this spring when we have the hull cleaned

Congrats and welcome! That 25 footer will be perfect for the river. I grew up on the St. Croix on the WI side just across from Afton and have so many fond boating memories of the river. We now keep our boat at our Gull Lake home but still get out on the St. Croix a few times a year with my sister and friends. The boat launch in Hudson is a good one but I’m not sure how crowded it is these days.

Yea that would be good not to leave it in the water. I would still have it repaired though, you dont want the water to penetrate deeper into the glass

The ramp in Hudson is usually full unless you are there really early! We gave up on the place in Bayport too, I can’t remember the name of the facility. Their parking area is a few blocks from the ramp and they used to cart us back and forth to our vehicles but all of the sudden one year they stopped giving rides back and forth. I would even ask if they would come to pick me up and they would say yes but I ended up walking anyway. Since then we go to the Windmill Marina in Afton, it’s only a few more miles south off of 94. They are awesome there! They have college aged kids on the dock to help move boats and a bunch of kids on land driving golf carts to haul drivers to and from their vehicles. Last year with Covid they were usually pretty busy but they always found me a spot to park.

I plan to get a few quotes in the fall to see what it will cost me over next winter.
