R5 surf and Sunstream floating lift

Does anyone with an R5 Surf have a Sunstream FloatLift FL6012 model?

There’s one on Craigslist at the marina next door to our marina $9750, 6 years old, recent service and new batteries, price and age seem decent to me.
Pictures show an R5 on the lift, owner says selling because new boat is larger than lift can handle.
With regular maintenance I assume the life of the lift isn’t really a worry, any opinion there?

My other questions are just about Surf forward drive and weight.
Does the forward facing drive make a difference on the model of lift?
Capacity of this lift on Sunstream website says 5500#, R5 Surf dry weight on Cobalt says 5020#,
Are we pushing too close to the capacity?

We had planned on buying a new lift this spring so just settling into the debate over save some money or go with new model, looks like Sunstream added a 7000# capacity lift recently.

Thanks!
Steve

Right I wouldn't want anything smaller than a 6000lbs one for my 220. Yes your way over that limit. Plus the forward drive makes a huge difference.

Dry boat weight does not include fuel, batteries and gear. Just the fuel and 2 batteries is an extra 420# to 460# alone. Add water, lines, anchor, life jackets, tools...

Thanks! I’m with you guys on that it’s probably the wrong lift for our needs. I was surprised that the current boat on the lift was an R5.
