As a recommendation in another post I commented in I am posting in the new member forum. Almost 2 weeks ago I ordered the boat listed in the subject line above. The decision was made after much discussion among our family as the best boat to meet everyone's wants and desires. It is pretty much loaded out with the options I think we would use.

The color scheme is new for 2018 and the only pictures of it I have seen are on Cobalt's facebook page. I really like the new scheme as I didn't care for the big WSS graphics and big swoop on the 2017 model and I was having a hard time picking colors that I thought looked great with the decals. This new paint scheme simplifies things and it looks great in red and white. I wish they would update their website so I could play around with colors and any striping before it is too late. As it stands now the hull side is Navy and the hull bottom is white with a white recessed logo. Interior is Terra brown and the stitching in the seats will be terra brown as well to accent the dash and piping throughout the boat. I still have time to change the color but I don't know for how long.

If you have time it would be great to see you top 5 must have options for this boat if you were ordering and reason. The power is the Volvo 380 FFD.

Thanks and hello from Oklahoma!

Well alright alright alright! Another Okie is on board! Welcome to the gang, even if you are a durned sooner fan! Where do you plan on using your boat? We have a place on Tenkiller.

Oh yeah, my top five? I'd see if they can paint that sucker Orange! :D :D

My top 5 options, aside from trim tabs are as follows:

1. Electric porcelain toilet.
2. Interior Led lights with remote.
3. Makassar panels. The knurled stainless alternative is ghastly.
4. Dinette table is great for entertaining.
5. ACR along with chargerPremiumstereowithtransomepeakersseagrasscockpitsinkcockpitcoversStainlesshelmfootplate

I have a lot more but you just gave us top 5. :)

I wish I ordered the motorbox opener. Easy to add on though..Christmas present to myself..

Thanks to all and I am so glad orange is not an option! Sooners or Cowboys we are still Oklahomans! :D We will be at Texoma although I'd rather be at Tenkiller but the drive is a factor for us.

Love the choices, we have been going back and forth on which head to get (electric vs plain pump out). As far as a link it is below and you click on optional equipment. The options add up quickly but seems like every other day I add something. Probably will continue until they tell me to stop or we have every option!!!

Hey, I found the link mentioned in my prior post Soonerfan----ooops, I see you beat me to it!!! :D :)

My top 5 assuming you got the bow and cockpit snap on covers:

1. Any of those arch options (a must for wakeboarding or some other watersport activities)
2. Transom stereo remote (use this quite a bit when needing to mute music quickly while instructing kids behind the boat)
3. Transom trim remote (so nice when pulling boat out of water and letting outdrive drain off water at ramp)
4. Dual battery switch (so nice to have the extra battery and piece of mind)
5. I like the Soft trac mat. Sea Grass is nice but heard it can get hot on feet in OK.

There are other options (like ski mirror; cushions; etc.) but many of those can be added afterward. The above almost need special Cobalt installation for factory finish. That being said; I'm not sure about the Rudder indicator option as I have never had a need for that with an I/O. May want this at the top of the list depending on it's function.

(Btw, we never used our head except for emergency-- twice in 7 years and only used our dinette table once)

Hope this helps. Enjoy that new R7 WSS Surf. Another beauty!

Food for thought.
We never once used the head on our last boat. 13 years. Those little dump out, or even pump out plastic heads only store 2.5 gallons. That's one round of beer pee.

Holding pee is a total afternoon party wrecker, especially with women on board. I figured as we get older, it will become harder to hold it, and more of a PITA to lift anchor and drive to shore for the ladies to use a restroom. That was my number 1 favorite option, because we can stay out for hours and everyone remains comfortable. The electric head's best feature is the 10 gallon holding tank. Flushes clean and everyone keeps enjoying the day...

We are a little more primitive, Tusc--we just pee in the lake. Girls love hanging off swim platform.

Our new boat has a pump out with tank, but again...don't intend on using it.

 Haha, I guarantee if you get over it like we did, and christen it just once,..you'll use it more than you think, especially if you are in street clothes.
There is also a comical angle of watching me jam myself in there

"especially if you are in street clothes."

Now that would be a first on our boat!

YES!!!...That would be my default engine now. You will never regret the extra power. Should be number one on your list like BB suggests. 8-) :D 8-)

I have found the rudder indicator to be extremely useful when docking. For $217 or whatever, it is the most bang-for-the-buck option I think. I really only use it when docking, but it sure is nice to know exactly what to expect when you bump it into gear in forward or reverse, especially when the kids are all talking and I momentarily lose track of where I have the out drive aimed. On my tach, I keep that and depth always on the two little digital displays.

We use our dinette table quite a bit, but I wouldn't have it if Cobalt didn't throw it in for free. Hard to justify $1200+ for it. It is nice though if we bring dinner out on the boat in the evening, or even fore snacks when we are out all day. It also provides 4 extra cup holders which can be nice.

I guess the sea grass carpet has gotten warm a couple times, but I never thought much about that. It probably gets more complements than anything else in the interior.

If I lived down south where it gets really hot, I would seriously think twice about the sea grass. It definitely looks the best and easy to clean. Although we don't use footwear in our boat, it seems that it would never look dirty like the regular carpet could, but lord, can it get HOT.

It's perfect around here. I find that it only gets hot when I'm in my own driveway with the cover off, but on a hot day in the full sun with no breeze...it feels like it could cook an egg. It definitely burns my feet to where I can't walk on it.

Well, that's the old 6.0l pictured. You will now get the new 6.2L direct injected, high compression aluminum block engine.
The best part is the easy drain system where you can winterize with a push of a lever. Where I live, you always seem to winterize a week too soon where Indian summer makes for nice cruises..but you don't feel like re-winterizing. No longer a problem.
