R5 replacement carpet/seadeck/marine mat floor template

Post by ajfdj55 »

Does anyone have or know where i can find a floor template and/or the floor dimensions for a 2015 R5. I'm looking to replace my existing carpet with snap in marine mat. Neither Marine Mat nor Sea Deck have an existing template.

Try calling SC Wake, I think they would have it. Or they can send you one that is similar say 2016 you can lay it out and verify. sometimes you have to push. I know when they did mine they kept telling me they didn't have the 2019 R7, finally they sent me the 2018 R7 and of course it matched.
I would recommend stick down personally. Snaps bring another level of difficulty to a template IMO. Plus I don't like getting stuff under the snap in mats.

Odd marine mat doesn't have it considering they made it for the factory. I tried to deal with them one time and wasn't thrilled.

Agree. I guess I got lucky, called them the other day and was sent the drawing for R7 transom walk thru. Not sure if it makes a difference but it was on record from a customer not Cobalt

Maybe it was a deal cobalt worked out with them so people order it from Cobalt?

We just had our R5 done about a week ago. They came down one week and measured with a scanner (sorta) went back, drew it out and emailed the proof. (we changed the logo between the scan and install) One bonus is that they get all the lines straight. I also found an access port I didn't know I had! We knew from when we placed the order, that this is what we wanted and were going to do, so we originally just left stock carpet in the order.

They then came back a week or so later and installed.
I am very pleased with the results. This is the second boat I have had this company do, and my 5th boat with a Sea Deck treatment. (well, 2 were jet boats, so they only count as half!)

As usual, I am smart enough to follow the color recommendations made by my Admiral. She did not fail me this time either.

So now I have some 1 year old carpet that will fit a 2020 R5 and whatever else that is the same. Anybody need some?

Looks great CaptBob. I ordered ours through GatorStep this year. They already had our template and that made it very easy. The hardest part was picking the color and design we wanted. The design team sent a draft of what ours would look like with a logo design I sent them and it looked great. It's currently in production and I'm waiting for the completed product to be shipped.

Hey All!!

Did you have to sand down the swim platform to adhere Gatorstep/Seadek? Thank you!

Yup, I'm a fan of the color also, just in the wrong order!

We had seen a boat with the colors of yours at a boat show in Nashville, Our first order had them the same. Somewhere along the line the Admiral decided she liked the slate better and we had them reversed.

I know enough to yield to her color recommendations.

i'm striking out finding anyone be it Seadek, MarineMat, Gator, etc that has a full template for the entire interior of a 2015 R5 for snap-in . To those of you who have been successful getting EVA for your boat, did you pull out your snaps and use the glue down version of EVA?
