Hi -
I'm in the market for a clean 263. I missed out on a 2001 that I was on the fence with. I was suprised with how many spider cracks that were on it. Is this normal for this boat?
Looking forward to the info from everyone here!
Thanks in advance!
Brad

No a ton of cracks are not normal. Really more important is where did they start from?
Great boat go find one.

Good call Brad....that was a major factor in our decision for Lake Erie Boating and crossings to Canada.

I've seen a few recently on the FB marketplace. There is also a guy on the FB Cobalt Owners Group that is selling an 02 with 760 hours.

The 2000-2007 262 & 263 models were some of the best to ever come out of the world headquarters in Neodesha, KS. We had a 262 before our 263. I know I'm partial but they are still our favorite models in terms of build quality, looks, speed, ride, versatility, and resale....especially for under $50k.

I can't agree with you more. I know I have an r7 now but I still snap my neck every time I see a clean 262. Will always be one of my favorite if not favorite Cobalts. Just clean lines, great handling, and most had big blocks!

Don't worry about a volvo. I've been a merc guy my whole life. Ok the last 5 years

Honestly I think they are much easier to work on and just as reliable as a merc or a Honda

Sexy cuddy with offshore flare!
Plus you arenβt climbing over windshields with the Cobalt engineered fold out steps.

Ive owned 5 boats. 4 mercusers and 1 OMC. The OMC was a nightmare on the back of a 21' Donzi...89 i think. Mostly alphas abd one bravo. Never any issues with the mercs.
Getting back to this 263 on Facebook. The guy is out of Georga via Ft Lauderdale FL. Says he buys and sells Cobalts
I talked to him today and he claims its a fresh water boat. Says its out of Tennessee but it has North Carolina tags on it. Nice enough guy but it looks like a salt water boat to me. Im a midwest OCD guy looking.for something clean. The trailer has a sticker from a New Jersey on it. By the looks of the drive im betting its a salt water boat. Everything im reading it says to avoid salt water boats at all costs.
Im not feeling this one.
Thoughts guys? How do I post pictures by the way??
