Hi all. New to the forum. Proud A40 and R5 owner. My 2016 A40 has as depression in the fiberglass roof area behind the sunroof, but in front of the arch. It collects about a gallon of water when it rains. The first person to step onto the boat in the AM, usually my better half, get soaked. Every time. Anyone else seen this issue? Is it a design flaw or a bigger structural issue?

I’m sure if this collection of water is just appearing after your 4 years if ownership it is possibly distorting.
I’m sure Cobalt could give you some pics of the OE configuration of the roof.
One would think this model would have rain and water displacement planned out?. ( it’s designed to sit out right?)

Any pics of this fiberglass depressed area? Possible design flaw but hard to say.

so I guess I should clarify. The A40 is a 2016, but just purchased by me last summer. I have spanned across the depression in the roof with a 4' level and it has dropped about 1/2". That equates to about a gallon of water landing on your head when you step onto the back deck. Cobalt tells me that it isn't a design flaw and isn't a warranty item either, but that seems like an odd response. There is no cracking in the fiberglass and the underside of the roof inside the boat looks pristine. I guess I'm going to just fill it with a gallon of fiberglass resin and get it painted.

As for the R5, she's also a 2016. 380 V8. Both boats are white with black trim, sort of a "little brother - big brother" thing going. I'd love to share some pics but haven't figured out the attachment process on this board yet. If you can help with that I'd love to share.

without seeing any pictures, it sounds like there is a large span of fiberglass that they didnt put any cross support in to keep it level. So the fiberglass has "settled" over time and created a bowl? It would suck to have to fill in that bowl all with resin, and would probably end up cracking. Is it a hollow top? could you put a drain in the center and run a hose internally down into the bilge?
