older model 200 vs 220s

Post by IntrepidBoater »

I'm looking to buy a used Cobalt in the 22 ft size, and have missed on a couple already thanks to this sellers market we are in! I've never had a Cobalt previously, so wanted to get the pros opinion. Is a 2007/2008 200 model that much smaller vs a 220s? or a cs22? i am dealing with a slip that's 22ft, so i'm limited to what i can look at. I'd love a 232, but don't think i could swing it.

Thanks for the help

Have you eyeballed your Niehbors to see who sticks out? Is it going to on a hoist? Are you concerned about not being able to cover it?

Geeze I gotz questions.. one more. Any pics of the set up?

i dont have a pic unfortunately. I could probably get away with 23ish ft, I just don't want to piss anyone off, with supposedly 22ft designated slip. Maybe beg for forgiveness if I show up with a 232?.... :D

I've heard of people in MN get kicked out of the marina for that. I think big bear lake?

Selective enforcement.. if one person is over the suggested length then all bets are off.

As the infamous BBP would say... Do it!

its a residential community dock fortunately, not a marina. Thats why i was thinking i could fudge it a foot or 2 without anyone really saying anything. I've heard same nightmare stories about the dock commandos with their tape measures at certain marinas....

Swim platform adds about 2 feet to the length of the boat. That's why I'm paying for storage of a 24 ft. boat with my 220s. They measured!
