Hello All - I'm from Cedar Rapids IA and I've been reading this forum for a couple of weeks now. Good Stuff all around. I have been boating for around 62 yrs - boy does that sound OLD. Primarily enjoying the Mississippi in the Dubuque/Guttenberg/Praire Du Chien pools. However we also have spent a good deal of our time on the Coralville Reservoir near CR. I bought my first Cobalt (198) back around 2002. Later I upgraded thru the yrs - always with Cobalts. Pics attached. Waiting to get my new R5 - some options are being added at the dealer and I have a new Heritage trailer coming.

How was that 232 compared to the 226. Ride and speed. Did the 300 have enough for a 232 or did it leave you wanting more?

Great color combos too.

The 232 had plenty of gumption - slalom skiing and such - 49 top speed no matter how you loaded it - with quick hole shot. I was a bit disappointed with the 226 at first since it came with (I bought it used) F7 props. I replaced them with F6's - much better. I think around 52 mph.
My favorite I think was the 232 to this point with the additional storage and large swim platform and as always great ride. I'm pretty sure the R5 is going to win all.

Welcome Straub, very neat display of your boats, particularly from the same vantage point & same location. This looks like a great Cobalt ad to me. Thanks for sharing.

Very cool pics.
Your salesman must have a waiting list to be contacted when you decide to trade your boat! We spent a long time looking for a "creampuff" on the market, and they all were burned toast so we ended up ordering new. That latest blue is a great color.

Yeah - a salesman would have loved to be a part of any of those sales - however the 1993 and 2010 went to my son. He got the "family" discount.
The 2006 226 went to a private party. I generally have sold all my stuff by myself. I sell it for more than the dealer would ever give you for trade and that generally offsets the tax difference. The private person gets to know personally who the previous seller was and how the boat is taken care of.

Welcome from Mississippi and Arkansas.
Love the blue. Hopefully the R5 will be your new all time favorite.
Our R3 is our favorite, but we didn't have the boat lineage you have.
Classic.
