Opinions on Seadek/similar for swim “step”

Hi Folks,
Hope the winter treated you all well, currently catching up on all the projects I’ve put off while I was throwing myself off mountains
So far, I’ve replaced my existing head unit with the Fusion RA70. Quite the upgrade all else being equal. I also opted for their Bluetooth remote and a couple peel and stick Velcro circles. The idea being I can move it between the dash and stern as needed. Worth the try I think for a $50 part.
This brings me to my next, and in my opinion most important, project. I’ve got to get something on the swim step/ledge (‘98 220). It’s nasty slick even when dry and I’m terrified someone, probably myself, will slip and meet the Bravo 1 up close and personal.
Basically, I’ve narrowed it to two options: a precut template from SeaDek - $249 for one layer, $319 for feaux teak in matched colors; or a ballpark 40”x 80” sheet in one color I cut myself for $120-150. I’m a diy if I can kind of guy, but I think the factory edge and feaux teak would be pretty sweet.
What do you all think?

I've done both. Get the precut.

Pre cut or let someone do it for you.
The logo cost me an extra $100 to cobalt for its use but I think it was worth it.

That's interesting they let you but charged you to put their logo on their boat. Who did you pay? Cobalt directly?

I will look tomorrow. The hatch covers are at the upolstry shop.
I bet I haven’t opened those four times since I’ve owned it (7/20).
I don’t know why those cracks are there but will speculate when I get back to the shop tomorrow. I think I had an idea at some point but my friend John Jameson has me all confused.

That’s the strut for the hatch
Evidently the engine cover encountered an obstacle at some point. I’ll get around to fixing it some day.

I paid Xpertdek but they paid Cobalt I’m sure.

Hey thanks for the update.
Actually I was asking about the piece just forward of the strut. After further examination I see it's the tool kit. For some reason it looked like a bracket when I first saw it.
I'm guessing the fiberglass cracks came from a prior owner who left the ski pylon in and raised the hatch. That to me is one of the few weaknesses of the 00-07 262/263 models.

I just ordered a set of MarineMat for our flooring and was unable to get logos added. They initially said they could do it but withdrew at the final design review. They told me that even though they are the supplier for new Cobalt boats, Cobalt will not allow them to use logos on aftermarket purchases. I even tried ordering through my authorized Cobalt dealer, but same response. I checked with Seadek and they also said they don't have a licensing agreement with Cobalt. I stopped searching much after that because I am partial to a snap in solution which MarineMat offers. We pull up to the beachline often, so a fair amount of sand gets tracked in to the boat. Its much easier to clean with the flooring pulled out occasionally, which you cant do with the adhesive. Waiting on delivery and will be sure to share pictures upon installation.

Yep I was going through the exact process you went through. Same responses. That's why I went through Aquamarine. But their are vendors that will do it on any day then the next nope. Lol

Update on the MarineMat.
Product has arrived. Fit was very good and quality seems fine including the stitching/binding on the edges that secures the bottom material in lieu of the adhesive. Installing the snaps is a bit of a pain if you don’t use the large C style device, pres-n-snap tool comes from sailrite. Had to add a few additional snaps to the deck but that was fairly easy. Ordered with no split to slide around chair. Pull off chairs and slid over top, keeps it nice and secure plus less snaps. Much more comfortable on the feet than the carpet or the nonslip fiberglass!
Next up some TLC for the vinyl and a new stereo.

Dead that looks very nice. With a black boat myself, we debated a grey floor but went with the Teak look. I’m very happy with it.
