Water sloshing in the bow under the anchor storage.

Post by Big Block Power »

So I have water sloshing in the bow under the anchor storage. I had my bow up in the air because I was draining the bilge. not much water in there from the boys. So I just happen to grab the winch stand and shake it and I heard water sloshing. The anchor area is dry as a bone. I think it happened from rain going on vac in July or the bow eye, but it's sealed pretty good? Under the anchor is the black mat and it's solid. I think I'll have to drill a hole to see what's under there. I'll take pictures tonight after boating to see what I have going on.

That is interesting , BBP.

Fuel is too far back to hear sloshing.
No potable water storage up there.

Not sure what small area can contain water up there.

Keep us apprised.

I'm thinking you probably have it diagnosed, but my guess is that it's getting in at the bow eye. Might also double check that the drain lines in that area aren't plugged by an insect or another type of clog.

The drain there is perfect. As the storage area there is dry. Water comes out of it. It's below that which is weird. I'm more concerned it's trapped and not draining. Winter that could be a problem. Glad I'm catching it now.

My thoughts exactly BBp.

Once you drill that hole, I would put one of those camera scopes (hopefully one with a light) and see what ya got goin on down there.
