Carpet/flooring options

New-to-me 2004 cobalt 240. Original snap in carpet looks great but the rubber backing is disintegrating and sticking to the floor. I’ve got Sea Dek install quote from local place for about $2,200. Carpet is less, but not sure how much less. Love the faux teal look in either Sea Dek or snap-in carpet, but looking for ideas.

We do have active German shepherd and small Malti-poo. Toenails are always trimmed, but still concerned about punctures/tears. Also general concerns with getting dirty, stains, keeping clean.

Thoughts? Pics? Suggestions?

I have sea deck on my swim platform. It holds dirt but comes clean with a brush and simple green. I dropped a bag of ice on the sea deck to break it up for the cooler and the ice ut a hole in the sea deck. I would go with sea grass over carpet. Ive heard good thing about https://www.snapincarpet.com

We have the Cobalt Soft Mat that snaps in and we love it.
I'll be careful with the bags of ice, so thanks for the info.

I installed seadek (peel and stick) myself and love it.
I have Golden's that run around on it without any problems. I have never dropped a bag of ice on it ;)
I love and would highly recommend. Cleans easy and doesn't hold water.

RV, if your carpet looks good, but just the backing is deteriorated, BBP posted a solution for
replacing the backing:
viewtopic.php?f=44&t=1088&p=24765&hilit ... oof#p24765

I did this, and have been very happy with the results.

Thanks, again, BBP.

All good.
I can see how Ice could cut it when dropped on it. Hard sharp edges.

I have a Cobalt 240 (2004 model) and replaced the snap-in carpet with seagrass carpet for the cockpit and SeaDek for the walk through and stern area of the boat. Here's a picture of the carpet Image.

I also had my dealer install an extra USB charging plug back by the trash can. Makes it pretty convenient for the long days when your phones are dying!

I just had Sea Dek installed, great look. It was $2500 installed for my R7.

Looks great. I don't know if I'd want the nails in my boat.
