The Extra Costs. New boat home.

Morton Buildings finally started my garage today. 36' deep by 45' wide. I've been waiting to do this for years..
Morton does a nice building, plus no more treated lumber in the ground.
Along with the boat, I'll have room in the middle and also be able to finally park a crew cab truck without having to remove the snow plow.. yeah my southern friends, we pay the price of a comfortable summer by freezing our rear ends off in the winter. And where I live....it's dead center for lake effect snow. Not dealing with a plow at 5 am will be supreme luxury for me.
I'll add to this thread as the building goes up.

John, this thread has nothing to do with our boats, so please move it if you feel its appropriate to do so, thanks.

Haha.. nothing to do with boating, and no one may be interested. I'm just bored and I'm tossing some crap on the wall here.
I am pretty excited about it though..

It has everything to do with boats! Your BOAT is going to live in there! Through Western NY winters!
Couldn't be more envious right now. I can't build out my garage to add another bay but I can go back... which I am considering.
Can't wait to see the progress and finished product.

I just wish you were closer and had a spare 25 feet of space.

Tuscany I plan on doing the same thing in the next year. So I'm very interested on seeing the progress of your new boat house too!

Well, the framing will always go fast.
Believe it or not, only 2 guys are in the job and did this today. The rest of the crew starts here next week.
You can see the 12 x 10 doors. There will be a double center entrance with a transom window above, along with a set on each side. A dormer over the doors will reach into the roofline. Maybe we'll see that tomorrow if the rain holds off.
It will be fully insulated with heat, water and electricity. And, I might as well toss a cable wire in the ground in case my wife kicks me out.. I won't miss a football game.

I would add a toilet

looks great. I was thinking at first just one door on the end going the long way. Why do they hold off pouring the floor?

I'm game for watching a boat house (dare say, a man cave) go up! Yep a toilet is a must. Might as well include a shower. Don't want regrets. Are you doing a finish on the concrete like painted or stained?
