Lower unit drops

I have a 2004 to 220. Over about a 18 hour period, the lower unit drops slowly. I see no oil leaks and there’s plenty of fluid in the reservoir. Any thoughts or ideas?

Sorry to hear about your outdrive woes. You either have one (or two) bad rams with a leaky internal piston seal or your pump check valve is not working correctly due to debris, corrosion, stickiness etc. One way to see if the rams are bad is to raise your outdrive all the way up. Then have someone push down while you listen to the rams via a stethoscope or using a long tipped screwdriver. You can place the tip of the long screwdriver against the ram and hold your thumb knuckle over the end of the handle. Press the area directly in front of your ear onto your knuckle and the setup will act like a stethoscope. Any sounds of hissing, dripping, or trickling indicates a leak.
If no sound is heard from the rams then most likely the pump check valve.
