So after a week in Lake Powell, my boat has a yellow scum on the hull. I left it for a week before cleaning (probably a mistake) but I am now having a hard time getting it back to white! any advice? the white is now yellow!

I use hull cleaner also. If toilet gel bowl cleaner doesn't work. Just need to wax it after. I just did mine this weekend. Came off like water.

Squirt it on a sponge and it will magically wipe that yellow scum right off.
Buy it at Wally mart.
The squirt bottle gel works even better. Check out my results

I use oxalic acid which is the same stuff in starbrite(10% oxalic acid). I bought a 10# bag of oxalic acid powder years ago on eBay and I am still using it. I mix it up in a garden sprayer and spray the hull. I then pressure wash the hull and trailer afterwards.

Starbrite Hull Cleaner worked on our white boat. It had several years on it, but our lake is pretty clean.
I couldn't get to bottom on lift, so I spent lots on new tires, bunks, and carpet on a trailer that sat outside for 5 years just so I could take it home and clean it. It looked so good we sold it and bought Cobalt.

Muriatic acid. You can buy a gallon jug at Lowes for dirty cheap. Apply with a spray bottle or a sponge. It will take care of the yellow super fast. Wear gloves and a mask as with any chemical. I use it 3 times a year to keep my hull bright white

I've found the Starbrite product above is great, and yes, it's like magic (no elbow grease required). Very easy to apply with gloves and a pump sprayer assuming you are doing entire hull.

Starbrite hull cleaner works like a dream. Like mentioned above, no elbow grease required. Wipe it on and before you can spray it off with water, it's already working. Warning.....if you have an aluminum trailer, cover it with plastic or a tarp before applying.
